Terms of Service

Last updated October 5, 2026

These terms are a contract between you and JustBard Technologies ("Confidae", "we", "us") covering your use of the Confidae service. By creating an account, connecting a mailbox, or using Confidae, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement. If you do not agree, do not use Confidae.

If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation, and "you" means that organisation.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract. You must not be barred from using the service under the laws that apply to you, or located in a country or on a list subject to United States sanctions or export restrictions.

The service

Confidae organises your email, prepares briefings, drafts replies for your approval, answers questions about your inbox, reads your calendar, and helps with routine mailbox maintenance such as labels and filters.

Confidae does not send email without your approval. Every outbound message requires you to approve that specific draft. There is no bulk send, no scheduled send, and no autonomous send.

We may change, add, or remove features. If we materially reduce a feature you are paying for, we will give you notice.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@confidae.com if you think your account has been compromised. Give us accurate registration information and keep it current.

Connecting a mailbox

By connecting a mailbox through Google's consent flow:

  • You confirm you are authorised to grant access to that mailbox, and that doing so does not breach an agreement with your employer or anyone else.
  • You authorise Confidae to access and act on that mailbox as described in the Privacy Policy, and only within the scopes you granted.
  • You understand that your use of Google's services stays governed by your agreement with Google, and that Google may change or withdraw access independently of us.

You can disconnect a mailbox at any time, which revokes our access and deletes the stored credential.

Your content

You own your content. Your email, calendar, contacts, and everything derived from them remain yours. We claim no ownership.

You grant us a limited licence to host, process, transmit, and display your content only so far as necessary to operate the service and provide the features you request. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

We do not train AI models on your content. Your content is not used to train or develop generalised or non-personalised AI or machine learning models, ours or anyone else's. This is a term of this contract, not only a statement of policy.

AI features and output

Confidae uses large language models to generate drafts, summaries, briefings, and answers ("Output").

  • Output can be wrong. Models make factual errors, misread context, and can misidentify people. You are responsible for reviewing anything before you approve, rely on, or send it.
  • Output is not legal, financial, medical, tax, or other professional advice, and must not be relied on as such.
  • As between you and us, you own the Output generated for you.
  • Output is not unique. Other users may receive similar Output for similar requests, and we make no claim that Output is original or non-infringing.
  • A message you approve is a message you sent. The approval step exists so that the decision is yours.

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • break the law, or use Confidae to help anyone else do so
  • infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights
  • send unsolicited bulk or commercial email, or anything deceptive or fraudulent
  • access a mailbox you are not authorised to access
  • attempt to breach, probe, or disrupt the service, or circumvent rate limits, authentication, or the approval step
  • reverse engineer the service, or use it to build a competing product
  • resell or provide the service to third parties except as we expressly permit
  • upload malware, or use Confidae to distribute it
  • use automated means to access the service other than through interfaces we provide

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these rules, and where the breach is severe or risks harm to others we may do so without prior notice.

Free trial

A new account starts with a 14-day free trial, up to 3 mailboxes. During the trial you can connect up to three mailboxes and Confidae drafts up to 40 replies. We do not ask for a card to start a trial, and a trial never turns into a paid subscription on its own.

When the trial ends, Confidae stops working on your mail until you subscribe. Your settings and data are kept, so subscribing picks up where you left off. If you subscribe before the trial ends, your first charge is taken on the day the trial would have ended, or straight away if fewer than two days of it remain.

One free trial is available per person and per mailbox in any twelve months. We may decline or end a trial that we reasonably believe is being used to avoid paying, for example through repeated sign-ups.

Subscriptions and billing

Confidae is offered as a paid subscription. When you subscribe, we show you the plan price, what it includes, the billing interval, and when the first charge will be taken, before you enter any payment details.

Automatic renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or yearly as you chose, at the then-current price for your plan, until you cancel. We will make the renewal term, the recurring charge, and how to cancel clear at the point you subscribe, and we will ask for your agreement to the recurring charge separately.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from Settings, Billing, without contacting anyone. Cancellation stops the next renewal. It takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep full access until then. If you need help, email support@confidae.com.

Refunds. Fees are not refundable, including for a partly used billing period, except where the law requires a refund. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not refund the current period.

Drafting allowances. On the Solo plan, drafting pauses once you reach 200 drafts in a calendar month and resumes at the start of the next month. Reaching an allowance never creates an extra charge: we do not bill overage on any plan.

Price changes. We may change pricing. We will give you at least 30 days notice before a change affects you, and the new price applies from your next billing period. If you do not accept it, cancel before it takes effect.

Taxes. Fees exclude taxes. You are responsible for any sales, use, VAT, or similar taxes, other than taxes on our income.

Failed payment. If a payment fails we may retry it and may suspend the service until payment succeeds.

Payment disputes. If you dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer, we may suspend your account while the dispute is open. We restore access when the dispute is resolved in our favour or you withdraw it. If you think a charge is wrong, please contact us first; most problems can be fixed faster that way.

Payment processing. Payments are processed by Stripe and are subject to Stripe's terms. We do not store your full card details.

Fair use

Some parts of Confidae are offered as unlimited or with generous allowances, including drafting on the Professional plan, inbox questions, chat, and research. These are offered for the normal working use of one organisation's own mail, subject to fair use.

To keep the service fast and affordable for everyone, we set reasonable limits on these features, well above what a busy professional normally uses. If your use reaches one of them, the feature pauses until the limit resets at the start of the next day or month, and we tell you in the product. Nothing is charged as overage. If you need more, contact support@confidae.com and we will work with you.

Fair use does not cover automated or bulk use, sharing an account to serve people outside your organisation, or use that is designed to exhaust a limit. We may restrict such use under the acceptable use rules above.

Beta features

We may offer features marked beta, preview, or early access. They are provided as is, may change or be withdrawn, may be less reliable, and are excluded from any commitment on availability or support.

Suspension and termination

You can cancel your subscription or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if the law requires it, if your payment fails and is not cured, or if your use puts the service or other users at risk. Except where the breach is severe or urgent, we will give you notice and a reasonable chance to fix it.

Deleting your account while subscribed. If you ask to delete your account while a paid subscription is active, the subscription stops renewing from the moment you ask. You keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for. When that period ends, your account is deleted and your data is purged as described in the Privacy Policy. The current period is not refunded, except where the law requires it.

On termination your right to use the service ends, your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy, and you remain liable for fees accrued before termination. Retrieve anything you want to keep before you cancel. The sections on your content, AI output, our intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, and indemnity survive termination.

Our intellectual property

Confidae, including the software, interface, and brand, is ours and is protected by intellectual property law. These terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service during your subscription. We reserve all rights we do not expressly grant.

If you send us suggestions, we may use them without obligation or compensation to you.

Third-party services

Confidae depends on services we do not control, including Google and Stripe. We are not responsible for their acts or omissions, for changes they make, or for interruptions that originate with them. Your use of those services is governed by your agreement with them.

Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error free, that Output will be accurate, or that defects will be corrected.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility.

These limits apply regardless of the theory of liability. They do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section and the disclaimer above may not apply to you.

Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable legal costs arising from your content, your use of the service, your breach of these terms, your violation of law, or your lack of authority to connect a mailbox you connected. We will tell you about any such claim, and you may control the defence, provided any settlement that imposes an obligation on us needs our consent.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will give you at least 30 days notice by email or in the product before they take effect, and we will update the date above. If you do not accept a material change, cancel before it takes effect. Continuing to use Confidae after that means you accept the updated terms.

General

You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Neither party is liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Failing to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us about the service. We send notices to the email on your account; send yours to support@confidae.com. You will comply with United States export control and sanctions laws. Nothing here creates a partnership, agency, or employment relationship.
